World of Warcraft: The War Within is set to kick off on August 26, but some of its key features, like Skyriding and Warbands, are arriving early in the pre-patch on July 23. The Call of the Radiant Echoes event will have players battling across three zones in 90-minute cycles to grab Residual Memories for rewards. Skyriding will convert flying mounts to the new Dragonriding system, making travel more fluid and momentum-based. This is a big quality-of-life improvement for the game. Warbands are a new alt-friendly approach to WoW, allowing players to group all their alts together in a Warband with access to a Warband bank and Warbound until Equipped (WuE) gear. WuE gear acts as a midway point between soulbound and bind-on-equipped items, helping players gear up their alts just by playing the game. Transmog is also getting a major update, with appearances becoming account-wide and most reputations and achievements being shared across characters in a Warband. Overall, these changes represent a significant shift in the game’s design, making it much more alt-friendly and eliminating the need for repetitive grinds. It’s an exciting time for World of Warcraft players, and these updates are sure to enhance the gameplay experience for many.
