It looks like the hopes of a pirate-themed expansion for World of Warcraft are dashed. President of Blizzard Mike Ybarra replied to a tweet about pirates with a simple “No Pirates”, indicating that a seafaring adventure probably won’t be coming anytime soon. This was despite some store-exclusive transmog sets and in-game hints like the Pirate Proclamations book—it seems we’ll have to wait for another expansion before exploring this avenue further. It’s a shame, as it would’ve been an exciting break from the Jailer-focused storyline of Dragonflight and a nice nostalgia trip for long-time players. Still, it’s not all bad news: there’s still plenty of content left to explore in-game, and hopefully the next expansion will offer something equally as exciting.
