GOG Cloud Save Deletion

GOG has announced that it will be deleting cloud saves that exceed 200MB per game on August 31st. This is due to the increasing demand for cloud storage as the size and number of games increase. The decision aims to provide sufficient and manageable space for all players while keeping costs under control. It’s important to note that not all cloud saves will be deleted, as GOG will remove save files starting with the oldest until the allocation limit is reached. However, some users are concerned about this decision and see it as a potential indicator of financial struggles for GOG. As a gaming enthusiast, I understand the convenience of cloud saves for accessing ongoing games across multiple devices and protecting against hardware failure. However, with the impending deletion of larger cloud saves, it’s a good reminder to regularly back up game progress locally. I would personally trying to remove the saves I’m sure I don’t want to keep anymore before they get deleted out of my control. I’m sure many of us are keeping our first saves for nostalgia or memory of our first character or run.
