Dolphin Emulator’s Steam release has been indefinitely postponed after Nintendo issued a cease and desist citing DMCA against its Steam page. The Dolphin Emulator Project team received legal notice from Nintendo addressed to Valve’s legal department and is currently investigating their options. It appears that this does not fall under the standard DMCA takedown process, and Valve simply removed it after Nintendo requested it. There is a chance Nintendo could sue Dolphin, as they distribute the Wii AES-128 Common Key used to encrypt Wii game discs. The future of Dolphin on Steam is uncertain, with no notice from Nintendo about other places the emulator is hosted.
