Dolphin Emulator Adds RetroAchievements

Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator, is making some big moves. Just a couple of weeks ago, they announced that they’re moving to a rolling release cycle, and now they’ve added integration with RetroAchievements. This means that players can now earn achievements in over 100 GameCube games. RetroAchievements adds a new layer of challenge to games by setting tasks and goals beyond just beating the game. It’s a cool way to add extra replay value to classic titles. The list of supported games includes popular titles like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Super Mario Sunshine. One interesting feature is that RetroAchievements supports two modes for earning trophies: a softcore mode and a hardcore mode. Hardcore mode disables some of the emulator’s features for a more authentic experience. It’s worth noting that this feature is currently only available on PC, and not on the Android version of Dolphin. To enable it, users need to update to the latest development build and turn on RetroAchievements.org integration in the Tools menu. Overall, this is a great addition for fans of retro gaming. It adds a new level of challenge and keeps things fresh for those who have played these games countless times. Plus, it’s always fun to earn some virtual trophies for your gaming accomplishments.
