At Ubisoft Forward, we got a look at the first Assassin’s Creed game designed for virtual reality: Assassin’s Creed: Nexus. The game features familiar assassination gameplay from previous games, but in first-person VR. Players will be able to use weapons such as the hidden blade, sword, smoke bombs, bow, and others by physically going through the motions of using them. Narratively, Nexus ties together the stories of three familiar assassins: Ezio, Kassandra, and Connor. It takes place across multiple cities with open structures, allowing players to approach objectives in a myriad of different ways. Additionally, new features such as teleport locomotion, vignetting, and settings to help with fear of heights are being implemented. Assassin’s Creed: Nexus does not yet have a release date, but is an exciting addition to the Assassin’s Creed universe that fans should keep an eye on.
